Minnie L. Clemons is a retired Branch Manager and Assistant Vice President of  M & T Bank.  She was responsible for the day-to-day sales and operations.   She began her career as a part-time teller and has 40 years of banking experience in the financial industry. 

Minnie was born and raised in Buffalo, New York to the late Mary F. Johnson and the late Allen Johnson, Jr.  She attended Canisius College. She received an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies from Erie Community College.

Minnie is a prominent figure in the community. She has volunteered for various organizations, including 1490 Enterprises.  She has served on the following boards:  The Boys & Girls Club of WNY, William- Emslie YMCA and Central Day Care. She is a faithful member of the St. John Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Michael Chapman.  Minnie served on the Usher Board, Youth & Young Advisory Board, and as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She currently is Co-Chairperson of the Finance Committee.

She is passionate about taking care of seniors and others less fortunate than herself. She believes that the only time one should look down on someone else is to help him or her up. Her mother instilled in her at an early age to treat people the way you would like to be treated and God will do the rest.

She is a collector of Black art and sculptures.

Minnie has one daughter, Ashley who graduated from Norfolk State University.  The love of her life is her grandchildren: 7 year old grandson, Alex and 3 year old granddaughter, Maddie.

One of her favorite Bible scripture is Psalm 46:10  “ Be Still and Know That I am God.”
