Robert L, Robinson II is a life long resident of the City of Buffalo. Robert was educated by the Buffalo Public School System. Robert played high school basketball and received several awards and recognition. After graduating from high school Robert attended Daemen College on a full four year Athletic Scholarship. Robert graduated from Daemen College with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work. Robert received the Social Work Student of the Year Award. While attending Daemen College Robert continued to excel in basketball. Robert received the Player of the Year Award in their conference. Robert remains Daemen College all time men’s basketball leading scorer in career points. Robert stayed involved with the Daemen College Men’s Basketball Team. He is often asked by the coaches to stop by and speak with incoming players on how to successfully navigate through college life as a student athlete. Robert is currently employed with the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. Robert works out of the Western New York DDSO, Region 1 office. Robert joins the board with over 25 years of experience working in the field of Human Services. Throughout his professional career he has been an advocate for some of the most vulnerable and neglected populations. Robert has worked with individuals and families affected by Substance Abuse, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease, Homeless, and Mental Health. Robert currently serves on the Leadership Executive Board for True Bethel Baptist Church. Prior to joining the Buffalo Black Achievers Board of Directors, Robert served for many years as a volunteer. In 2014 Robert accepted the Buffalo Black Achievers Volunteer of the Year Award. Robert also serves on the Board of Directors for 1490 Senior Estates.
